Real Molinillo, Legends Stay Perfect in Division I and II after Round 3 of the LFL

30 November 2019, Lipa City – Real Molinillo stayed spotless in Division I of the Lipa Football League after a hard-fought 1-nil victory over guest team Real Baraco of Batangas City Sunday night at the Aboitiz Pitch of The Outlets of Lipa. The match was played in front of a good weekend crowd at the venue.

Mark Roy Gulang scored the goal that separated the two teams midway through the first half. Tyron Regalado’s deep cross from the right found Gulang with space on the left flank. The latter cut inside and buried an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.

Real Baraco had their own chances but when they slipped Molinillo’s tall defensive line of Nestor Natanauan Jr., Kevin Macasaet and Ted Regalado, they could not find a way past goalkeeper Christian Rongavilla, who was in outstanding form.

In the other Division I match, defending champions La Salle FC bounced back after its loss to table-topping Real Molinillo in Round 2 with an emphatic 5-2 victory over an undermanned Mentors FC. The Mentors, made up mostly of military personnel from Fernando Air Base, had players deployed in the SEA Games but tried nonetheless to give the youngsters of La Salle a game.

La Salle ultimately came out comfortable winners as Mentors eventually ran out of steam, with Gregorio Antioquia scoring a brace and Michael Jordson Reyes, Vince Endozo and Ryan Paul Mangulad all contributing a goal each. Joebel Bermejo scored both of Mentors’ consolation goals.

In Division II action, Legends FC also stayed perfect after defeating Coffee Millers FC 4-1. Despite the scoreline, the Millers turned out to be the table-toppers’ sternest test in three matches, especially after Harold Dimaano scored in the first half to level the score after Lorenzo Ureta’s opener for the Legends.

The Millers’ lack of fitness ultimately spelled the difference in the second half when Krysler Bon Opeña, Kim Medina and Winzle Mariano for the Legends to give the scoreline its final gloss.

In the other Division II match, Kings FC was at the receiving end of a second shellacking in a row after allowing Lipa Emmanuel to score 11 goals without reply. Marc Capuloy led the young Emmanuel team with a hattrick, while Luise Silva and Guian Paul Gutierrez each contributed a brace.

Edrian Rongavilla, Kim Jun Seok, Francis Munda and John Medal Pureza were Lipa Emmanuel’s other goalscorers.
